And so it November is here and soon it will be Christmas. The moment to give attention to the period soap, since it is thé gift. Because Christmas is all about being together, love and warmth. And sharing. That you do not think of yourself only but also give somebody else something.
You can see the period soap as a seed that you plant the moment you give the soap to somebody. A seed to make this person grow into her full potential female power, to bloom and to make her celebrate that she is beautiful and perfect the way she is. A gift for life!
Next to this you also support the Period Workshop of She Blooms. I am back in South Africa and I see with my own eyes the effect. Something it seems to be difficult to name the effect, because what we mostly want to achieve is openness, honesty and the guts to share your vulnerability. If we really make sure that a girl doesn’t fall pregnant that easily, I can’t say yet. What I can say is that my heart fills with warmth when Gloria tells me that she is able to tell her daughter more than she learns at school, and that this gives her self-confidence. She also talks about topics that were taboo before. Jacques, the manager of LovetoGive, the NGO that runs our workshop as part of their programme, assures me that there really is an impact. He says that our workshop breaks walls and taboos and empowers women, that reaches further than sexuality only.
During this visit I got the idea (with some help of the FHC students) to portrait women and to share how they experience the joy of being a woman. In the chats I had with several people I have started to notice that it seems to be a difficult question. As if is difficult to name what the joy is. Food for thought for me and I want to use She Blooms as a platform to share these stories. With portraits. Because portrait photography is another love of me. Eunice is the first lovely woman that you will meet. You can read her story in our blog.
Then there is nothing else to say then that I wish that as much women in this world may receive a She Blooms’ soap. Because it makes sure that the receiver experiences more self-love, more feminine power and more openness. Something I grant each person.
Together we bloom!,
